J. BARRETT MALONE is an associate with Prior, Daniel & Wiltshire, LLC. A native of Dexter, Georgia, Mr. Malone graduated from Dublin High School in 1998. He then attended the University of Georgia where he graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems. Mr. Malone also completed the New Media Certificate Program at UGA in the spring of 2003.

Upon graduation from the University of Georgia, Mr. Malone was employed by the University of Georgia Athletic Association as its Assistant Manager of Internet Operations. During his time there, Mr. Malone assisted in the daily updating, coordinating and maintaining of the University of Georgia Athletic Association’s website, georgiadogs.com. He was also instrumental in launching GXtra, an audio and video platform of georgiadogs.com, providing additional revenue for the Athletic Association and bringing fans in-depth coverage of Georgia Athletics. As day-to-day operator of GXtra, Mr. Malone oversaw the production and incorporation of video content onto the web.

After two years with the Athletic Association, Mr. Malone attended the University of Georgia School of Law. He received his Juris Doctor in 2008 and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. While at Georgia Law, Mr. Malone participated in the Environmental Law Practicum, completed a Clinical Externship with the Honorable Kent Lawrence, State Court of Clarke County, and served as Notes Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law.

Mr. Malone’s practice areas include business and commercial litigation, business transactions and corporate work, education and employment law.

Mr. Malone is married to Cassie Bair Malone, a former University of Georgia gymnast, and they have one daughter, Mary Peyton. Mr. Malone and his family reside in Athens, Georgia.
